Support the work being done in Finland

We direct the money donated to Caritas’ charitable social work in Finland to, for example, camp support for children and young people and food gift cards. Your donation will also be used for social counseling and work with Ukrainians in Finland.

Camp support enables a summer experience

Many low-income families have difficulty offering their children meaningful activities in the summer. They do not know how to cope with the costs of the holiday period. Caritas’ Camp Support provides these families with financial relief. As summer approaches, the need for support is at its greatest.

“Camp support is important so that children and young people can get away from their home circles. For many children, a week of camp is the only event of the summer holiday during the summer. When you help families with children, you give them a memorable camp experience,” says Anna-Reetta Tiusanen, a social work expert at Caritas.

We are able to support camps with donated funds.

• In 2023, we distributed support for the camp fee of 26 children.
• In 2024, we were able to support a total of 35 children and young people’s camp fees.
• In 2025, 31 children received camp support, amounts between 65-200

A gift card brings the Christmas spirit

From the end of the year, we will redirect the support to gift cards. We will distribute them in cooperation with Catholic parishes to low-income families and single households.

Caritas gives gift cards to people who have been left out of other assistance:

• low-income families with children, for whom Christmas is a real extra expense
  senior people or couples living alone, for whom a small financial support brings Christmas
• low-income families with children, who are mainly immigrants.

Your support brings the Christmas spirit to many families. With gift cards purchased with donated funds, families can buy Christmas food or gifts.

• In 2024, we donated gift cards through the parishes to 37 single people and 33 families.
• In 2025, 59 single people and 55 families received gift cards.
