Social counseling and support
Caritas Finland also works within Finland’s borders and helps those in need in many ways. The headquarters of the activities is the Caritas office in Meilahti, Helsinki, at Kuusitie 6. If necessary, we operate all over the country.

Social counseling
Caritas offers social advice to anyone in need. Social work expert Anna-Reetta Tiusanen can be contacted in Finnish, Swedish or English for advice on issues such as social security, health services, housing and employment.

Surplus food and clothing distribution
The surplus food distribution is organized at the Caritas Finland’s office twice a month on Mondays. The distribution is carried out in cooperation with the Stadin Safka network. More detailed information about the distribution times can be found on the Events page.
Clothing aid: Caritas sells recycled clothes in its store. They come to us in cooperation with, for example, Inditex, the company that operates Zara stores. You can take donations to any Zara store collection box. Full boxes will be transported to us and their contents sorted. We sell or donate clothes in good condition to low-income families and other people in need. We recycle clothes in poor condition responsibly.
You can also bring clothes in good condition directly to the Caritas store to sell.
Gift cards and camp support
Gift cards: Caritas distributes gift cards especially at Christmas time in cooperation with Catholic parishes. You can donate to food gift cards via our website: Donate to charitable social work.
Camp support: Caritas annually supports dozens of children and young people in camp fees. Support is granted for various camps, such as diocesan confirmation camps and recreation and hobby camps. You can apply for camp support all year round, but summer camps have priority. For other camps, support is granted if there are funds left after the summer camps.
We need donations from individuals and companies to support the camp. We warmly thank all supporters and donors who make this valuable activity possible. Donations to children’s and youth camp activities can be made through our website: Donate to domestic social work.

Friendship Café
Monthly Friendship Café, which is open to everyone, at the Caritas office. It offers a meeting place and community. The café also organizes trips to various destinations. Café times and trip schedules can be found in the event calendar.
