Caritas helps people living in Finland

With the help of a gift card, a low-income family can purchase Christmas food or gifts. Food and goods have become so expensive that many families do not have enough money. Already at the end of autumn, many do not know how to cope with the expenses of the Christmas season. With your support, Catholic parish priests distribute gift cards to either lonely people or families with children. Caritas' domestic social work support helps parishes support needy families.

From the end of the year, we need your support so that we can give gift cards to low-income families and single-person households.

Caritas gives a gift card to people who are excluded from other help:

  • low-wage families with children for whom Christmas is an extra expense

  • elderly people living alone or couples for whom a small financial support brings Christmas

  • extended families with low incomes and who are mainly immigrants

With the received gift card, families can buy Christmas food or gifts. Your support brings Christmas spirit to many families.

Thanks to everyone who donated in 2022! With your support, a total of 41 people living alone and 38 families received food gift cards. The value of the food gift cards was 4300 euros. Your donation brought Christmas spirit to many homes!

You can also support Social work in Finland every month. Even a small monthly amount has a big impact! A form opens at the bottom of this page, through which you can enter into a direct debit agreement.

After the amount, select Kotimaan työ / Social work in Finland.

Thank you for your donation!
